Testing Method

PPI testing is typically performed via Oral Graded Challenge (OGC). Skin testing (SPT) with reconstituted oral formulations (40 mg/mL Neat) may be performed but has limited validated sensitivity.

Equipment needed

  • 2 × Rabeprazole 20 mg tablets
  • Water for swallowing
  • Observation chart

Skin prick test (SPT)

Preparation: Dissolve 40 mg (2 tablets) in 1 mL NS. Use the supernatant for SPT. Interpretation: Wheal ≥3 mm vs negative control = positive.
