Testing Method

PPI testing is typically performed via Oral Graded Challenge (OGC). Skin testing (SPT) with reconstituted oral formulations (30 mg/mL Neat) may be performed but has limited validated sensitivity.

Equipment needed

  • 1 × Lansoprazole 30 mg tablet/capsule
  • Water for swallowing
  • Observation chart

Interval: 60 minutes between steps.

Preparation: Dissolve 30 mg in 1 mL NS. Use the supernatant for SPT. Interpretation: Wheal ≥3 mm vs negative control = positive.
